Week 3 (28 January-3 February)
28th of February, that day was the first day being transferred to kindergarten. First, I was observing the class. The recess time of each class is different, so the grade 1 students kept on visiting me in the kindergarten. The morning class in the kindergarten is manageable than in the grade 1. But in the afternoon class, everyone is not as active like in the morning class. And sleepiness is also one of the problem.
29th of January, that was the first day of me teaching in kindergarten. My CT said I will be teaching in the morning class, but because my buddy didn’t know that, so I just taught in the afternoon class. It’s okay though, the difference was just the children and their way of learning is also different. But the thing was my CT was not around, I was told that I would only be teaching before the recess time. So, I did not know what I would do after recess. But thankfully my buddy gave me an idea, so I could also do the teaching after recess time.
30th of January, that was the day of my first evaluation day. I was so nervous, when my evaluator came. I really did not know what to do when I’m nervous haha. But that day ran very smoothly, the students were very active, they did what I was teaching. They understood me, even though I still needed translator 😄. Anyway my evaluator said I did good, but still there was no one perfect. So, I still need time to improve my way of teaching.
31th of January, that day was my last day of teaching and also my final demo. I did teaching twice that day because I didn’t know that my evaluator will come in the afternoon. But, thankfully I made extra worksheet for the student. Because the students were different in the morning and in the afternoon. I did a good job following my lesson plan in the morning, because my students did a very good job understanding what I was teaching. In the afternoon, I needed a lot of patience because the students weren’t as active as the students in the morning and I couldn’t do all of the activities in my lesson plan that day. But in the other hand, I learnt that children learn very differently. Each one of them has their own way of understanding things.
1st of February, that was the last time I would be in the school. I didn’t teach that day my CT said that I should have fun in the last day in the school. So I just observed the class and also taking pictures of the school.
2nd of February, we went to La Union. We went to beautiful places, such as the beach, the stone hand, and the grape farm.
